Bio raw chickpeas have a taste that stands out for its earthy aroma with nuances of walnut. It is recommended in slimming belts due to the rapid production of the feeling of satiety, thus helping to regulate body weight, without preventing the absorption of minerals.
In order to be consumed, raw chickpeas must be soaked for 12-15 hours, during which time they will double in size. Then, rinse well in some water and boil, with a sprig of bay or rosemary. Only after boiling, it can be used to prepare food.
Chickpeas are as versatile as soybeans, but better tasting. With chickpeas you can make meatballs and sausages, burger (falafel) and soups, salads and desserts. It is a very good substitute for meat and can replace the proteins it provides, due to its special nutritional value.
One of the most famous oriental dishes in which chickpeas are used is hummus: with just a cup of chickpeas, a spoonful of tahini, the juice of a lemon, a clove of garlic, 2 spoons of cold-pressed sesame oil or olives and salt and cumin to taste.
